Width of the table you are web designer, it is easier to manipulate - in pixels or percentages?

I design all my tables in Dreamweaver 4, and both points, attempts width (usually about 800-900 pixels wide set) and percentage (usually 100%). However, they have a problem of text alignment in cells, the navigation below the table for a cell text horizontally, is no wider than the other.
