Anyone bottle their own filtered water in refillable glass bottles to reduce plastic (PET) consumption? - pet beer bottles

I wonder whether it is economically viable and a source of the bottles. Tried a regular bottle of beer, but not used to fill, and broke easily. Reuse is better than recycling!
